Cropduster

One of my favorite things to do is to capture things in the moment. I got to enjoy taking photos of a helicopter cropduster today that was right next to my house. (I have never seen a helicopter playing the roll of a duster before!) It was SO close to our houses! I started off in the back yard on my deck and realizing it was going east I decided I would go to the front yard. As I went through the house I realized my husbands dog was in the middle of having a bad blow out (heat / people food = not good for puppy FYI) so I told my eldest daughter to put the dog outside thinking I'd clean up after I got back inside from my photoshoot. I'm running as fast as I can in no shoes and I get to the front yard where my foot finds a hole in the yard and I twist my ankle falling to the grown my camera going down with me. It hits and pops the camera card piece open. Not even thinking of my own pain that is soon to come I fix the camera and start shooting more photos. How can one miss out on the awesome photo opt even in the middle of a crisis?? (It would have been a waste of the pain.) So I get the photos I want and my daughter comes out to inform me there has been more puppy explosions and she sees me on the grass in agony. I quickly ask her to go get her father to get the puppy messes before the 2 year old can get into it. I wobble back to my rocking chair in the living room and I'm there without moving for an hour... WEEEE the exciting adventures of art continue!!
On a higher note I have been asked to take photos in the hospital of a dear dance mom friends new baby. She is even going to ask if I can come in and take photos in the OR. I'm thrilled! I really hope I can- what an amazing thing for me to be able to capture for someone!
